#14 “Fantastical”

A Game of Thrones is a book. We read it. We think we understand it enough to talk about it. As far as we know it's a fantasy novel... Right? We know it has some people, some of whom hate each other. Also there are some dragons and zombies. Most importantly the three B's of life are included; you'll have to listen to find out what those are.

#13 “Stumbled in the Rubble”

Jim and Megan discuss season 2 of Battlestar Galactica, specifically the mid-season episodes with the appearance of Battlestar Pegasus. Our conclusion? Admiral Cain is an Admiral Pain. Also, we miss Buffy.

Next week on Nerd Novice: Nerd Novice Book Club, discussing “A Game of Thrones” by George R.R. Martin.

#12 “Casual Encounters with Battlestar”

One day, Jim and Megan spoke via the Sub-Space Communicator and talked about a lot of really ridiculous things before actually getting to a point. They invented a call-in phone line where you can have intimate yet casual conversations with any Cylon skinjob of your choice. Then they grossed themselves out discussing spider poop. Wait, what was this episode about? Something about space and mean, yet very attractive robots. Yeah, they talk about that stuff too. But really, the important question here is why is there a Shure 562 microphone on Battlestar Galactica?

#11 “Diary of the Apocalypse”

Megan finds it a little nerve-wracking to watch such a serious take on human behavior during the apocalypse, and discovers that Jim has similar feelings. Your co-hosts discuss the reboot version of Battlestar Galactica, linking it to other topics such as the Walking Dead, politics, and Pop Tarts. OK so maybe the Pop Tarts aren't really related, we just like them.

#09 “Hellmouth in Cleveland”

In this doubly fantastic episode, Jim and Megan sadly wrap up their discussions on Buffy and TNG. It's been a fun ride, folks. We wish we could talk about our favorite shows forever. Considered them slayed.

Next week on Nerd Novice: ....Not book club. Because we're lazy and we are postponing it until next month. Instead, we'll be discussing 1978 Battlestar Galactica's first three episodes, "Saga of a Star World: Parts 1-3."

#08 “The Dark Sayyid”

Amidst the gloomy depths of despair and a skyrocketing rage quotient, Megan and Jim discuss Buffy and TNG for the second-to-last time. Weather sucks. Life sucks. Crappy thermoses suck. Snowhio sucks. At least there's Sunnydale and Space.

Next week on Nerd Novice: Buffy “Conversations With Dead People” / “Get it Done” / “End of Days” / “Chosen”; TNG “Dark Page” / “Lower Decks” / “All Good Things Parts 1 & 2”

#07 “Groovalictacular”

Live/pre-recorded from the Space Attic, this episode of Nerd Novice follows season 5 episodes of TNG and Buffy. Jim definitely cried [man-tears] during “The Body”. Megan got to meet Spock, finally. Best of all, your hosts discuss the finer elements of watching paint dry.

Next week on Nerd Novice: Buffy “Bargaining Part ” / “Once More, With Feeling” / “Two to Go” / “Grave”; TNG “Birthright Parts 1 & 2” / “Face of the Enemy”

Clarification: The origin of Sela is actually revealed in the two-part episode “Redemption”. As usual, Jim screwed up.

#06 “Naughty, Naughty Man”

In the first episode of our recurring Book Club series, Jim and Megan discuss pages 1-200 of A Game of Thrones, by George R.R. Martin. They come to the conclusion that George "Rail Road" Martin is a pretty naughty guy, and that reading books is way harder than watching television.

Next Week on Nerd Novice: Buffy “No Place Like Home” / “The Body” / “The Weight of the World” / “The Gift”; TNG “Unification Parts 1 & 2” / “The Inner Light”

#05 “Murder, She Wrote”

Jim and Megan discuss season 4 episodes of Buffy and TNG. Megan decides, without knowing a single thing about the television show Castle, that it is basically a man-version of 'Murder, She Wrote'.

Jim divulges his new idea to aid in becoming Internet famous: netflixselfies.tumblr.com.

#04 “Faith, Hope and Foreheads”

Jim prefers his heroes not to be morally ambiguous, and is therefore not okay with Buffy skipping her makeup exams. Megan is tired of everyone always keeping their cool on the Enterprise, even when the Borg kidnap Captain Picard. Your hosts also announce what will be a new monthly segment on the podcast: Nerd Novice Book Club.

Next week on Nerd Novice: Buffy “The Yoko Factor” / “Primeval” / “Restless”; TNG “Brothers” / “The Nth Degree”

#03 “Stake and Steak”

After revisiting the conflict coffee discussion, Jim and Megan dive into their Season 2 assignments for Buffy and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Did you ever notice Spike and Data are both pasty, pale non-humans?
